Hypnosis is simply a state of mental focus and concentration. In this pleasant state, you become highly suggestible and receptive to new thoughts and ideas. It is not sleep. In fact, in hypnosis, you are actually mentally more alert than in your normal state of awareness. You can hear everything and you are always in complete control.

The human mind is made up of two significant parts - the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is used for will power, temporary memory, decision making, analyzing, and rationalizing. Everything you have ever seen, heard or experienced is stored in your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind controls our automatic behavior....those habits, feelings, thoughts, and actions that simply occur spontaneously and seem so hard to control. It may seem very difficult to eliminate a lifelong habit, fear, or even bad feeling. That is because the conscious and subconscious minds are often in conflict. When this occurs, the subconscious mind usually wins. Through the proper and skillful use of hypnotic techniques, it is actually quite easy to effect permanent change. By quieting your conscious mind and allowing access to your subconscious mind we are able to focus your mind on a new idea that you are willing to accept. You receive helpful and beneficial suggestions which enable you to achieve positive changes easily. This works because you actually change your mind. Before going though the hypnotic process you may desire certain things which are not necessarily good for you. After accepting positive suggestions in hypnosis, you simply lose your desire for those old, useless thoughts or things, and change the way you perceive them. You become extremely empowered.

Can everyone be hypnotized?

Yes. Have you ever been driving a familiar route home and suddenly arrived at your destination without remembering the last few minutes of the drive? This is one example of our subconscious mind taking over the routine details of life.
Our subconscious mind handles most of our day to day activities. That is the subconscious mind's job - to handle the details of life, while our conscious mind handles the more important needs.

Most clients are amazed at how quickly they accomplish their desired results. Unlike traditional therapies, Hypnotherapy is able to help you reach your goals without going through years of self-exploration.

Stop Smoking Hypnotism

There are numerous aids available to help people stop smoking - chewing gums, tablets, lozenges, and inhalers, for example. Even available in the market is Zyban, a drug that helps curtail nicotine cravings. But these quick remedies miss the most important aspect, the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind has incredible power and it can work wonders. Hypnotism makes effective use of the subconscious mind to cure smoking. Using hypnosis, the emotional and psychological problems of giving up smoking can be reduced or even erased alltogether. Hypnotism techniques include positive affirmations, autosuggestions and self hypnosis. Hypnotism is one of the cheapest of all treatments for stopping smoking. It enjoys a high success rate, too. There are many myths associated with quitting smoking. People fear they will gain weight when they stop smoking cigarettes. Far from it, most often people lose weight and become more physically fit after quitting. Some people wrongly assume that stopping smoking has to bring on withdrawal and other psychological problems. Hypnotism helps to avoid these, and other problems people may be worried about when they quit.

A hypnotist first gathers information into your personal reasons for quitting smoking. Many people who want to quit smoking may not be psychologically prepared for it. The first task of the hypnotist is to convince your mind that you really want to quit. Hypnotism is augmented by simple exercises to divert your craving for cigarettes. Breathing exercises, a large glass of water, or a few seconds of mind concentration are often suggested.

The physical addiction is over after the first few days. The mental addiction lingers longer and often triggers people into going back to the habit. Seeing others smoke and falling into the habit because of a place or time where you smoked previously are typical triggers that tempt people to return to smoking. Defeatism is another common excuse. Many people smoke again because they ‘failed’ in this thing or that. People often deceive themselves, thinking it is possible to smoke a “just one” cigarette after they have quit. A series of autosuggestions can provide a way out of this vicious circle.

Weight Loss Hypnotism

Hypnosis creates the relaxation that allows a path to be made to the center of the subconscious, creating new and positive associations, and replacing negative beliefs and habits. Old messages are eliminated and new therapeutic messages are substituted. Our desires are conscious thoughts, while our behaviors are created and motivated at a subconscious level. This is why will power alone is not enough. Statistics show that diets are almost certain to fail. They can sometimes be useful for losing a few pounds quickly for a special occasion. However, in order to maintain a healthy weight in the long term, you must change your thinking and develop new habits and behaviors. This is done by breaking down old associations and of course, building new positive associations. When you are motivated and genuinely desire to make positive changes, hypnotherapy can help you achieve your goals.
